Run For Karlee on November 15th at Sarge Hubbard Park

“Run 4 Karlee!”
Karlee Ann Jenkins is a 6 year-old angel who is fighting cancer for the second time.  After a heart transplant as a new born and beating her first bout with cancer last August, she was just diagnosed with lymphoma again.  She and her parents, Devon and Ryan Jenkins could use some love and encouragement. Please join the Yakima Runner Girls in this fun, family, run or walk event: Run 4 Karlee! The run-walk will begin at Sarge Hubbard Park (look for the blue helium balloons), go to MacGuire Park (the big, wood park and more balloons) and back to Sarge Hubbard on the Greenway (under 2.5 miles).  At MacGuire Park you will deposit a card with your name into the drawing bucket, which will be used for drawing for prizes at the end.  Strollers, wagons, and pets are welcome!

Reading: The World of Possibilities

Our Apple Valley Cougars are readers and this year one of our initiatives is to increase the complexity of reading, and the amount of reading enjoyed by our students.  We are giving 30 Reading Rangers books every month.  Thanks to our PTA, we purchased a numerous amount of books that we give away each month.

The following site on Scholastic provides resources to support reading!
